Research
My work at the History of Parliament concentrates on peers in the 'heart of England', principally those with interests in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, and members of the House of Lords engaged in diplomacy. Several were prominent in the Glorious Revolution, notably Thomas, 1st marquess of Wharton ('Honest Tom') and James Bertie, 1st earl of Abingdon.

My own research interests span the period 1688-1788. I am currently engaged in work on Frederick, Prince of Wales, and the experiences of the earl of Sussex and Lord Cathcart as hostages for the delivery of Louisburg to the French in 1748.
