Research
I joined the History of Parliament in April 2009 and am currently working on constituency and biographical entries for the 1832-1868 period, beginning with the midland counties. My other interests include the Victorian print media and visual culture, particularly their relationship to politics; the role and performance of businessmen MPs; the popular economic debates of the first half of the nineteenth century; and the temperance movement.
