Biography

Barbour, a barber in fact, was residing in Reading in 1377, when he paid 3s. as poll tax. His property in the town included a meadow bounded by dikes and containing a pond, and he witnessed local deeds until 1400.2 Barbour’s widow married John Hastyng*.3
