Biography

In August 1390 Cook was granted for life by Thomas Calston* a tenement on ‘Le Grene’ at Marlborough, and was still holding it in 1412. Meanwhile, in 1406, he had stood surety with John Jenewyne* for the parliamentary attendance of Nicholas Tympeneye.1 He was possibly the father of William Cook, mayor of Marlborough in 1425-6, who was returned while in office to the Parliament of 1426.2
