Biography

Hornmede attended the Guildford assizes held during the Easter term of 1392 to bring two actions—one of mort d’ancestor and the other of novel disseisin—against John and Alice Waltham. The outcome of this litigation remains unknown, since Robert Chesenhale*, upon whose evidence he depended, failed to appear in court. Hornmede was a benefactor of the Guildford Dominicans, who recorded his death, on 23 Jan. 1409, upon their bede roll.
