Biography

As William Rydelere ‘the younger’, he was among those summoned to appear at the assizes at East Grinstead in April 1392 to act as a recognitor in a suit regarding property at Horsham, but in the event he was not sworn in. He was called ‘junior’ on the return to the Parliament of 1393 in order to distinguish him from his elder namesake, who had earlier represented their home town in the Commons five times. As no distinction was made between the two men subsequently, it may be presumed that the younger predeceased the older.
