Biography

A relation, perhaps a son, of Richard Sandwell*, John was one of the people to whom, in 1401, Richard made over all his lands and tenements in Wycombe. In the following year he was elected to Parliament, William Depham* being his surety for attendance. Nothing more is known of him until 12 years later, when he was present at the borough election to the Parliament of November 1414. Most likely he was the John Sandwell ‘senior’, who died intestate before May 1416.
