Coroner, Wilts. bef. 28 Jan. 1408.

Biography

Tympeneye was a member of a jury which sat at Calne in March 1402 to inform commissioners raising a royal aid about landholders in the hundreds of Malmesbury, Melksham and Elstub. As these hundreds are all at some distance from Marlborough, it may be that Tympeneye was not a resident burgess there. However, two local men, Thomas Cook I* and John Jenewyne*, were his sureties for attendance at the Parliament of 1406. He served as a county coroner until January 1408, when the sheriff of Wiltshire was ordered to provide a replacement, but whether Tympeneye had been dismissed or had died is not made clear.
