Biography

Nothing has been discovered about Francis Roscarrock ‘gentleman’ beyond his Membership of four consecutive Parliaments. He was presumably a member of the family of that name in Cornwall as he sat for boroughs where it or its kin were influential. The head of the family, Richard Roscarrock, twice joined him in the House as one of the knights for the shire and Richard’s brother Thomas once as a Member for Liskeard. When returned for Camelford in the autumn of 1554 Roscarrock’s name was inserted in a different hand on the indenture.
