Biography

Fletcher was a shipowner and privateer, who thrice represented his borough in Parliament, on the last occasion being paid £11 4s. to include expenses and wages at the rate of 2s. a day. He made his will in October 1559, leaving most of his property, including lands, tenements and shops in the Rye district, and a ship, the Marigold, to his wife.
