Biography

Hyett presumably owed his return for Christchurch to his wife’s family, which had marriage connexions with the 3rd Earl of Huntingdon, patron of the borough. Hyett was dead by 1574, probably a comparatively young man. No licence for his widow’s marriage to Matthew Ewens survives, and as Ewens died childless, no closer date for Hyett’s death can be suggested.
