Biography
Whether or not Ward was from a family established at Morpeth during the fourteenth century, he certainly owed his returns to Parliament to the lord of the borough, William, 3rd Lord Dacre, whose daughter Dorothy, widow of Sir Thomas Windsor, left him a grey mare and £3 6s.8d. Ward was not returned again after the death of Lord Dacre in November 1563. The date of his own death has not been ascertained. There were a number of namesakes.
