Biography

Brooke Forester, who resided at Willey Park 1734-59 and at Dothill thereafter, strengthened his family’s interest at Wenlock by his marriage to the heiress of the Welds of Willey, whose estate was in the borough. Returned for Wenlock in 1739, he abstained with his father from voting on the Spanish convention, but subsequently regularly supported the Administration, and was classed in 1746 as an Old Whig. Like his father, he followed H. A. Herbert, Lord Powis. He died 8 July 1771.
