Biography

A Tory and a member of the October Club, Jenkinson succeeded his father as knight of the shire, voting against the septennial bill in 1716. He died 29 Oct. 1717, ‘much lamented, being a very honest, worthy gentleman’.1 His widow subsequently married Charles Eversfield and his younger brother, Colonel Charles Jenkinson, was the father of Charles Jenkinson, 1st Earl of Liverpool.
