Biography

Legh, a Whig, was returned for Bodmin in 1715 by his brother-in-law, Charles Bodvile Robartes, 2nd Earl of Radnor. He served as colonel of a regiment of Cheshire militia during the rebellion1 and voted with the Government. In 1722 he stood down in favour of his son, Charles Legh, who was defeated. He died in 1739 (buried 12 Dec.).
