Biography

Descended from an old Devonshire family, Northleigh was returned in 1713 as a Tory for Totnes. Re-elected unopposed in 1715, his only recorded vote was against the septennial bill. His name was amongst those sent to the Pretender in 1721 as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.2 He did not stand again, dying probably in 1731.3
