Henrietta Crofts, nat. da. of James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth; half-bro. of Charles Powlett, Mq. of Winchester, and Lord Harry Powlett. m. Dec. 1731, Lady Isabella Tufton, da. and coh. of Thomas Tufton, M.P., 6th Earl of Thanet, who subsequently m. Sir Francis Blake Delaval, 3s. 2da. K.B. 27 May 1725.

Biography

Returned for Hampshire on the elevation to the peerage of John Wallop, Powlett voted with the Administration till 1733, when he followed his brother, Charles Powlett, 3rd Duke of Bolton, into opposition, voting against the excise bill. He did not stand in 1734, but regained his seat in 1741, dying that year, 24 Aug.
