Co., 4s. 4da.; (2) 12 Dec. 1752, Anne, da. of Sir Streynsham Master of Codnor Castle, Derbys., wid. of Gilbert, 4th Earl of Coventry, s.p. suc. fa. 1729.

Biography

Pytts, whose family acquired Kyre in 1576,2 owned large estates in Worcestershire, for which he was returned in 1741, after unsuccessfully contesting Ludlow in 1727. A Tory, he voted against the Administration in all recorded divisions. Reelected unopposed in 1747, he was described by the 2nd Lord Egmont in his electoral survey, c.1749-50, as ‘most heartily well with us, and thinks himself under eternal obligations for our stand for him in the turnpike bill [for Worcestershire in 1749] against Lord Sandys’. He died 24 Nov. 1753.
