Biography

A high church Tory1 and a member of the October Club under Anne, Warburton was reelected for Cheshire as a Tory in 1715, voting against the Government in all recorded divisions. In 1721 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.2 He did not stand again and died 23 June 1743, leaving an estate of upwards of £2,000 p.a. to his nephew, who succeeded him as 4th Bt.3
