Biography

Borlase Webb, who was given a commission in his father’s regiment as a small boy, left the army with him in 1715. Returned with his father as a Tory for Ludgershall in 1722 he was again successful in 1727, voting against the excise bill in 1733. Under his father’s will he succeeded to the family estates to the exclusion of his elder brother Edmund. Defeated in 1734, he died 3 Mar. 1738.
