Biography

Wentworth belonged to a junior branch of the Wentworth Woodhouse family, who had been seated at Woolley since the end of the sixteenth century. Returned for York as a Tory after a contest in 1741, he voted against the Government, for which he was thanked by the corporation in February 1742.1 He did not stand again, and died 18 Jan. 1789.
