Biography
Lambton was returned unopposed in 1754, and was classed by Dupplin as a Whig. In 1761 Ralph Gowland contested Durham City with strong support from Lord Darlington, who, having filled both seats for the county with his nominees, was attacking the city. Lambton, returned by a narrow majority of 20 votes, died on 26 June 1761.
