Westminster 1767-74; Brasenose, Oxf. 1774. m. 8 June 1790, Anne, da. of Miles Barne of Sotterley Hall, Suff., 1s. 5da. suc. to estates of cos. Sir Benet Garrard, 6th Bt. (d. 1 July 1767) and took name of Garrard.

Biography

Garrard replaced his father as Member for the family pocket borough in 1796. There is no record of his having spoken in the House and his name appears in none of the surviving division lists. In the government list of September 1804 he was placed initially under ‘Pitt’, but subsequently transferred to ‘doubtful’. He retired to accommodate his nephew in January 1805. He died 17 July 1817.2
