Biography
Acland stood at Bridgwater in 1780 with the support of the Powlett interest, was defeated, but seated on petition. There is no record of his having voted during North’s Administration or on Shelburne’s peace preliminaries. In Robinson’s list of March 1783 he is classed as ‘country gentleman, doubtful’. He voted against Fox’s East India bill,5 Dec. 1783, and supported Pitt. He did not stand in 1784.
He died 23 Feb. 1831.
